
I've had a lot of questions, about why I recommend Chia seeds and how I use them. So here is a breakdown of my reasons.
1. Chia seeds are a great source of fibre and because they hold 12 times their weight in water, they are an excellent choice for helping control hunger and therefore for weight loss.
2. Chia seeds contain calcium, magnesium, potassium and is the richest plant source of omega 3 oils.
3. Chia seeds provide complete protein, slowing the conversion of carbs to sugars in the stomach. Making it a good choice for diabetics to keep their blood sugar levels balanced.
There are far more benefits to consuming chia, than I can list here. The best way I have found to use them, is by creating a gel, using my food processor. I add 2 tbsp in filtered water, I then add some fresh fruit and mix it all well. After leaving it to stand for 10 minutes, I then drink it. For me, it works best if I drink it first thing in the morning. The energy obtained from this one drink, is amazing. Just by varying the amounts used and the time of day it is taken, I find that the seeds are one of earths great treasures.
